A violent riot took place outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday evening, leaving four federal officers injured and three people were arrested.
The unrest came after a “No Kings” event that began earlier in the day around 1 pm. Thousands gathered in the city for what officials called a “free speech gathering.” According to Fox News, Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the mob launched fireworks, threw rocks, deployed smoke grenades, shattered windows, and forced entry into the ICE building. Four federal officers were injured in the chaos. Authorities ultimately regained control and secured the facility.
The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) said in a press release Sunday that officers responded to ongoing criminal activity in the area.
