Biden again briefly addressed his growing classified documents scandal, and got annoyed with a reporter while trying to communicate, contrary to his visible frustration, that he wasn’t worried about anything.
"You know what, quite frankly, bugs me is that we have a serious problem here we’re talking about. We’re talking about what’s going on," Biden said, referring to storm damage in California. "And the American people don’t’ quite understand why you don’t ask me questions about that," Biden added, complaining that a reporter would dare ask about an unfolding scandal.
The reporter then was allowed to ask Biden if he had any regrets about not revealing the existence of the first batch of classified documents when they were discovered less than a week before the midterms, prompting him to reply: "We found a handful of documents were filed in the wrong place. We immediately turned them over to the Archives and the Justice Department. We’re fully cooperating and looking forward to getting this resolved quickly."
Biden was looking down to read notes while providing his answer.
He added: "I think you're going to find there's nothing there. I have no regrets. I’m following what the lawyers have told me they want me to do. It’s exactly what we’re doing. There’s no there there."
