Dr. Keith Ablow: How Covid Communicators in Government Tried to Kill the Constitution

Americans knew free speech was under assault by the government during the Covid epidemic, but half the country seemed not to care—predictably, Progressives.  Progressive Democrats (which is really, all of them, for all intents and purposes) don’t care when the government curtails rights ensconced in the Constitution because they despise individual freedom and autonomy, except when it comes, literally, to control over their bodies.  That’s why they will fight for the right to put any drugs they wish into their bodies, fight for the right to receive “gender reassignment” plastic surgery to remove their body parts and those of their children and demonstrate in the streets to assert their rights to have sex with whichever partners they want (soon to include adolescents, I would predict).  Oh, and there’s also the willingness to go to war over the right to kill preterm children at any month of gestation.

Progressives don’t care about things like free speech if it hurts their feelings or seems at odds with their thinking.  They also don’t care that there is a document called the US Constitution that affords Americans the right to bear arms.  So, it was predictable that there wouldn’t be a peep out of Progressives when the US government was meeting with social media companies to urge or instruct them to suppress “false information” about the Covid vaccine having unknown side effects or not working as advertised or being a country-wide medical experiment with unknown consequences.  No, it was conservatives who raised those concerns and who objected to being silenced on social media.

Well, now a U.S. District Court judge in Louisiana has issued an injuction preventing White House officials from meeting with tech companies about social media censorship, noting that such pressure from the White House, in the past, has likely been a violation of Americans’ First Amendment rights.

Yup.  Judge Terry A. Doughty, a hero for our time, is barring a number of federal officials and agencies, including White House officials and some of President Biden’s Cabinet members, from contacting social media companies to suppress free speech.

Well, well.  Turns out the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, while his violence was reprehensible, was exactly right in his theories:  Unopposed, an unbridled government, with the complicity of rising tech companies, would spell the end of freedom in America.  Oh, wait, Kaczynski was found dead—supposedly due to suicide—in a federal prison on June 11 of this year.

Talk about silencing voices.
