According to a new report from Reuters, the Open Society Foundations, which is now run by George Soros’ son Alexander, plans to grow its international influence amid reports of them laying off over 40% of their staff.
As Reuters reported:
Open Society Foundations plans to withdraw or terminate large parts of its work within the European Union as it shifts focus to other parts of the world, according to an internal email seen by Reuters.
The decision means the charitable network will move away from work related to internal European affairs and focus on the region in the context of larger global issues.
The internal email did not detail how the foundation would shift its funding but a spokesperson said the group would continue to back civil society groups across Europe, including those working on EU external affairs while maintaining support for European Roma communities.
The organization, which directs an estimated $1.5 billon a year globally, will also continue to fund programs in Europe, including Ukraine, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, and the Western Balkans through national foundations, the Open Society Foundations spokesperson said.
Alexander Soros was handed a $25 billion war chest when he was given control of the OSF.
Just as he has in America, George Soros has spread his influence all throughout European politics. As I documented in my book The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros, one of the most fascinating looks into Soros' influence overseas came in the form of a document leaked in 2017 from the OSF's Open Society Policy Institute, titled "Reliable Allies in the European Parliament."
The document profiled all members of European Parliament that were viewed as allies of the Soros empire - spanning 11 committees and 26 delegations. At the time, 226 members of the European Parliament (MEPs) out of 705 were identified as 'proven or likely' allies of Soros. At the least, this reveals a sophisticated political international lobbying organization. If Soros-friendly MEPS were their own party, they'd have been the largest in the EU's law-making body. One can only wonder what such a comparable document on Soros' influence within our legislature would look like - but it's hard to imagine it would be much different, especially considering the large amount of influence the Soros family boasts in the Biden White House.
The Soros empire is only reducing funding of its endeavors in the EU because it succeeded in gaining the kind of control they wanted - and now it’s moving on to its next targets.
