Critics praised former President Donald Trump’s performance at the Al Smith Dinner on Thursday as one of his funniest speeches of all time.
Trump spoke for about 30 minutes and roasted several notables in attendance, such as New York Mayor Eric Adams (D), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and even himself.
Vice President Kamala Harris was the butt of many jokes, but she did not attend the charity dinner.
It was the first time a Democrat candidate skipped the dinner since 1984, when Ronald Reagan soundly drubbed Walter Mondale.
“If you really wanted Vice President Harris to accept your invitation, I guess you should have told her the funds were going to bail out the looters and rioters in Minneapolis and she would’ve been here guaranteed,” Trump mocked Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D).
