Something is happening in the government that is authoritarian to the max. The DATA and RESTRICT Act has been proposed and is so invasive Orwell would have puked.
Senate Bill 686, The Restrict Act, will put Americans in jail for 20 years and include a fine of up to a million dollars for using a VPN to access a website or app operated by “foreign adversaries.”
Sec. 5 of Restrict also points at what they’re targeting:
- Access to wireless LAN, mobile networks, satellite payloads, and cable access points.
- Access to software and hardware that has more than 1 million users.
