A panel of international speakers will convene for the conference, titled ‘Preparing for Disease X’, which wargames a strategy surrounding the outbreak of a virus 20 times deadlier than COVID.
The WHO is concerned about the potential for an “unknown pathogen that could cause a serious international epidemic” which is “currently unknown to cause human disease.”
Last year, the BBC reported that the UK government had already opened a research facility to prepare for the outbreak of ‘Disease X’.
